Peer Review Process

DWIN Journal: Journal of Digital Wisdom, Informatics and Networks is committed to maintaining the quality, integrity, and academic standards of all published articles. All submitted manuscripts undergo a structured editorial assessment and peer review process to ensure their originality, scientific quality, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal's focus and scope.

DWIN Journal applies a double-blind peer review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the review process.

The peer review process consists of the following stages:

  1. Initial Editorial Screening
    Each submitted manuscript is initially evaluated by the editorial team. The screening includes checking the manuscript's relevance to the journal's focus and scope, compliance with author guidelines and manuscript format, completeness of submission requirements, originality, and overall academic quality. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's basic requirements may be returned to the authors for correction or rejected without external review.

  2. Assignment to Reviewers
    Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the subject of the manuscript. The selection of reviewers considers their academic competence, research experience, and absence of potential conflicts of interest.

  3. Double-Blind Peer Review
    DWIN Journal employs a double-blind review process to promote impartiality and objectivity. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript without knowing the identity of the authors, while the identities of the reviewers remain confidential to the authors.

  4. Review Criteria
    Reviewers assess manuscripts based on several academic criteria, including:

    • originality and novelty of the research;

    • relevance to the journal's focus and scope;

    • clarity of the research objectives;

    • appropriateness and rigor of the methodology;

    • quality of data analysis and interpretation;

    • significance of the findings and scientific contribution;

    • consistency between results and conclusions;

    • quality and relevance of references; and

    • clarity and organization of the manuscript.

  5. Reviewer Recommendations
    Based on their assessment, reviewers provide constructive comments and recommendations. The possible recommendations generally include:

    • Accept Submission;

    • Revisions Required;

    • Resubmit for Review; or

    • Decline Submission.

  6. Author Revision
    When revisions are required, authors are expected to address the reviewers' comments carefully and submit a revised manuscript accompanied by a response explaining the changes made. Depending on the extent of the revisions, the revised manuscript may be returned to the reviewers for further evaluation.

  7. Editorial Decision
    The Editor considers the reviewers' reports, the authors' responses, and the overall scientific quality of the manuscript when making an editorial decision. Reviewer recommendations serve as important considerations; however, the final decision regarding publication remains the responsibility of the Editor.

  8. Final Acceptance and Publication
    Manuscripts that have successfully completed the peer review process and have been formally accepted proceed to copyediting, proofreading, layout preparation, and publication. Authors may be required to approve the final proof before publication.

The editorial team of DWIN Journal is committed to conducting the peer review process fairly, confidentially, transparently, and in accordance with recognized principles of publication ethics.
